Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates called his method "Contrology."

It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core, while improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

The focus of this class is to not only increase your strength and power, but also to correct any compensations or weaknesses by using corrective exercises to prevent injury and inefficiencies that keep you from becoming a better rider. If the Body lacks mobility or the ability to go through a full range of motion in a particular movement pattern the body sets up a stability where it needs a mobility. When mobility and stability are in balance, and all segments are synchronized, movement is graceful and potentially powerful. when they are not, the result is often injury or disappointing performance. This class is sport specific and you must have permission from the instructor to attend.
