CLASSES

Studio South Fitness offers a variety of Yoga, Pilates, Barre, TRX®, Boot Camp, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Spinning® classes.  Review the class descriptions below, find the one that sounds right for you and signup online.


Tabata is a form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) that involves eight continuous bouts of 20 second work periods followed by 10 second rest periods of a single exercise. Tabata training produces maximum calorie burn followed by an increased metabolism that continues to burn calories after the session.

Class Format:

-10 Minutes: Foam Roll/Active Warm-Up
-25 Minutes: 5 Tabata Exercises
-10 Minutes: Foam Roll/Stretch Cool-Down

 
Barre Fusion incorporates familiar cardiovascular training exercises with the addition of ballet and yoga movements. The movements are sequenced in a specific order to achieve strength, balance, coordination and grace. Using subtle variations such as tempo changes, movement progressions, pulses, and hold, Barre Fusion is a workout that maximizes both results and fun!

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates called his method "Contrology."

Pilates helps build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core, while improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Beginner Mat is the foundation for all other Pilates mat classes. You will learn the basic exercises and concepts of Pilates while gaining core strength, stability and greater flexibility. Regardless of your athletic ability, if you have had no previous experience with Pilates, you'll need to take this class in order to learn proper technique for the exercises, and to safely and efficiently progress to the next level.

This Aerial experience is designed to introduce beginners to Aerial Yoga while building confidence and comfort level with elevated yoga moves. Aerial yoga mixes together ancient yoga techniques with modern acrobatic exercises in order to create a total body workout that is fun yet challenging. This workshop program is appropriate for all fitness levels and is a great starting point even if you’ve never experienced yoga of any kind before
We will move through a series of exercises followed by sprints on the bike between each circuit.
This empowering fitness experience awakens and utilizes postural alignment and intelligent core exercises. Strengthen your body and improve balance through this transformative class. 
Our Breakfast of Champs is designed to deliver maximum total body results with a full body strength training and cardiovascular workout done in a group setting. This training uses a wide variety of interval training techniques, including lifting weights/objects, pulling, pushing, plyometrics, and running.
Whether you are a beginner, an avid fitness enthusiast, an athlete or just tired of the same routine, come try this whole new approach to exercise.... Our HIIT class is designed to deliver maximum total body results with a full body strength training and cardiovascular workout done in a group setting. This training uses a wide variety of interval training techniques, including lifting weights/objects, pulling, pushing, plyometrics, and running. This will help you lose body fat, increase cardiovascular efficiency, and increase strength. It resembles military basic training and addresses the full-body conditioning you are working toward.
Intermediate Pilates helps build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominal, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core, while improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Intermediate Pilates, you'll need to have approval for this class. Knowledge of the proper technique for the exercises, and to safely and efficiently progress is required to take this class.
Mat-Pilates you will learn the exercises and concepts of Pilates while gaining core strength, stability and greater flexibility.
Blast that booty into shape with a 30-minute workout that is designed for people who like intense workouts and variety, but don’t have a lot of time.
The instructor has to approve you for this advanced class.

Looking for an intense low-impact cardio workout? Then look no further - you’ll find this in a Spinning class! Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey or you are a
seasoned athlete, Spinning will not only challenge you but it will change you. There are
many benefits to indoor cycling:
• It’s easy on the joints.
• You are in charge of your own resistance and how fast you pedal.
• No complex routines or choreography.
• Classes are conducted in a positive environment - we motivate each other!
Learn the proper technique and basics to effective resistance training . You will learn how to record and keep track of your weights and how to create strength training programs to keep yourself progressing.  This is a good starting point for beginners and great review for those with lifting experience.  
TRX
This simple yet challenging, full body workout, will build your strength and stamina, increase your total body mobility and stability, all while strengthening your core. The TRX suspension system challenges both your core stabilizers and all major muscle groups. TRX is a fun and invigorating workout that is appropriate for all skill and fitness levels and no prior experience is necessary.
Learn the proper technique and basics to effective resistance training. This is a good starting point for beginners and great review for those with lifting experience.
Synchronizing breath with movement through a series of basic poses and sequences. The flow is designed to develop balance, build strength, and increase flexibility. Class is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience.
